  • proud to be greek, the greatest role in the resolve of the platea battle played the Greek macedonian King Aleksandros A who betrayed his persian rulers and inform hiw greek brothers about the morning attack and their tricks!!!!

  • when spartans saw how big was at marathon the victory of Athenians decide to help the other Greeks at Thermopylae and then at Plataea. Athenians were great not only in fighting but in too many other sides of life.

  • @limnmark you are an idiot. The Spartans did plan to fight they did not need anyone to tell them what to do JERK learn some real history not the one on video games MORON even Socratis said before he died, that if he had to choose a place to live the rest of his life in excile he woulg either to Sparta, or Krete because they have better more fair laws ... get some education JACKASS

  • @IOANNIS2 bre blaka oi Makedones htan Ellines, giati grafois blakies?

    Agreed nobody could prove that wikipedia is 100% right.

    Wikipedia and the modern historians were not eye witnesses.

    But neither are you and you should not forget that Herodotus, the first historian who wrote about the Greco-Persian wars did not take part in the wars cause he was a kid at the time. This means that he made a research on numbers asking others.

    Anyway believe what you will, the truth is somewhere between the middle of ancient and modern historians'sayings

  • @zk8551 And wikipedia was a witness or the modern historians.Great.So if a crazy guy in the future writes in wikipedia (if it still exist) that the twin towers never existed and it was just a movie trick,we all must agree with him.Come on friend.Wikipedia has so many craps that you must not read it at all.

  • @soNofLeoniDasandLas You blind,ignorant of history,the Greeks all together,saved their country from the asian barbarians,UNITED,not the Athenians or Spartans,individual! Πρίν γράψεις οποιαδήποτε σαχλαμάρα,βγάλε τις παρωπίδες,και,δές τα πραγματικά ιστορικά γεγονότα,καί,στο τέλος,κάνε την αποτίμηση! Άλλωστε,Αθηναίοι Σπαρτιάτες,Θεσπιείς,Θηβαίοι,Μακεδόνες κλπ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΟΛΟΙ ΕΛΛΗΝΕΣ! Το κατάλαβες;

  • @soNofLeoniDasandLas No i am not, check again its the same guy. Pausanias the son of Cleombrutus.

  • Atheniians victory in Marathon was even greater than in Thermopylae. Miltiades with 10000Athenians and1000brave Plataea faced half million persians in an open field when the spartans refused to help

  • @bfme2greatest and I add that not only they beat the Athenians in land , but also at sea with Spartan General Lysandros who gave the Athenians the final defeat in sea winning many battles in the Ionian, and Agean seas
