Tax the Rich to pay for healthcare?

While some Americans believe that the way to pay for healthcare reform is to increase taxes on the rich, this strategy could hurt businesses at a time when the economy is already dragging.

Taxing the rich isn't the answer. I'm not rich. If the USA can wage endless wars (e.g. Iraq, Afghanistan), why can't we use that money to fund health care?

How to pay? Ask Rumsfeld about the 2.3 trillion dollars "missing" from the Pentagon balance sheet as announced on September the 10th 2001 (what are the chances of that coincidence, eh?). If it can be "found" again it'll pay for healthcare it twice over and have enough left over to, oh I don't know...end world hunger or some good stuff like that. Which would be nice. Look down the back of his sofa, that's usually where I find all my pocket change...

In that same period, the average inflation-adjusted hourly wage went down more than 7 percent and the poverty rate rose.

Taxing the rich is the only way back to a surplus.

@aspenmogul You know, they are taxed over $400,000 for every million they make right? As it stands, the top 1% of Americans only pay more in income tax than the bottom 90% of Americans! That's unacceptable! I mean, nearly 40% of all collected income tax coming from 1% of Americans?? While in 2009, 47% of Americans didn't have to pay income tax? Dang, that's unfair! Tax the rich more!

Maybe the rich did something right that the rest didn't do. Maybe that's how they became successful. Work harder

If liberals can tax to pay for abortions then it's about time we tax people so that we can give bibles out to everyone. We need to tax people to save babies. Then we need to tax people who are evil. We need more taxes for liberals since they always want to tax conservatives.
