At the 1996 US Open quarterfinal match against Alex Corretja, Pete Sampras went "nuts" (in his own way) against the chair umpire. Pete was absolutely correct in that he deserved a first serve after all that nonsense.

LMAO... That was hilarious, especially coming from a guy like Pete, who rarely ever argues a call.

  • I like how McEnroe is always on the player's side against the umpire in these vids lol.

  • @vuk911 I mostly agree, but on the other hand the players today do not try to play "serve-and-volley" at all. I mean they should not do it permanently, because the top-players would adapt to it very quickly and pass the serve-volleyer again and again in the long run. But just to mix things up. Let's say, perhaps 10-15 net approaches per set and also sometimes S & V, especially after huge first serves. This might be a better tactic than just baseline-bashing all the time...

  • This is simply anyone going nuts? What a substandard and mediocre attempt!

  • come on, this is nothing compared to mcenroe

  • Andi Peters was a chair umpire?

  • @GhostWritersForHire no he said: "what are you smiling?"

  • @Phaedra2696 I too have noticed a resemblance between Sampras and Drake.

  • "what were you soming?" you were right pete

  • @KnowImillian And P.S. You can have that "I know everything and you know nothing,so you can`t argue with me" attitude as long as you want, but you should know that that doesn`t make you right.

  • @KnowImillian Players learned to deal with that aggressive,serve-and-volley style of play. Look at Rafa Nadal. Your approach shot against him has to be full power,on the line if you want to go on net. Otherwise, you`re fu**ed. Federer also has insane passing shot. Novak Djokovic? Every return is 5-10cm from the base line. It`s impossible to play serve-and volley against them! How else can you explain that no one does it? No is skilled enough? No one can serve?
