Before Delta Burke & Dixie Carter starred together in Linda Bloodworth-Thomason's "Designing Women," the three worked on this spoof of "Dallas."

  • The funniest to me was when Dixie's character described having to go into the garage wearing a towel, for some reason, and it got caught in the garage door, which kept going "up and down, and up and down," and I think she said the postman was standing there with his mouth open. I don't remember much else about the show, but that was hilarious.

  • @We2CU - The scene you described is the opening scene of the episode "The Country Club." I can't post links in the comments, but do a search; it's on You Tube now.

  • lol is this on DVD

  • I barely remember this show, and of course delta and dixie knew each other here before designing women came out.

  • @gt1kidd

    and Designing women as well.

  • I remember this show and i was a kid. If you give me a year I can tell you how old I was or young I was. LOL

  • What a loss in Dixie's passing! She was a funny, classy lady.

I remember this show very well. One of the best quotes was from Dixie's character when she was talking to her husband (Marchall) about their relatives: " These are van people, Marshall! They are people for whom Betty Crocker is real person!"

Loved her - rest in peace, dear Dixie.

  • RIP Dixie Carter

  • @fra0708 Yeah, well... some guys thought about being the meat in a triple decker Delta, Dixie and Ann Sammich, but... I always had the hotts for the ol' lady.

    But dat's jus me...

  • First off, Rest in Peace Dixie Carter, bless her soul.

Seems like this show started in the summer of '82 when I had just graduated High School. I caught a couple of episodes, then didn't have tv at college, and by the time I thought of it again, it was gone. As I recall, it was a VERY racy show for its time. Surely someone out there has some episodes on VHS...or Beta?
