Stating that the death toll in Afghanistan and Iraq is not nearly high enough seems to me to be an incredibly flippant remark, and I find that comment about cluster bombs disturbing for the way in which he appears to enjoy it.
Perhaps he was having a particularly bad time of it when he made these comments. It's just not the type of thing I would expect from him.

Christopher's profound intelligence was surpassed only by his profound courage. There simply is no replacement for a man who floored me every time I listened to him debate. Replacing him would be like replacing Michael Jordan on the basketball court -- it can't be done. Period. What a tragic loss to the cause of free thinkers throughout the world. To me, Christopher was bigger than life. He is very missed and loved.

I hate it when an outspoken atheist is not also an outspoken pacifist. How can you be in favour of both personal freedom and bombing the shit out of other people you don't like? I like this man, but his comment on cluster bombs is sickening.
