The sole purpose of this drill is to work & develop short range elbow / forearm / and palm strikes from the clinch position. The idea behind this drill is economy of motion striking within the clinch so the need for body & head punching isn't needed as once trained a short range Elbow / Forearm / Palm Strike will become a lot more effective. The drill starts off with the defender reflexively defending themselves whilst the attacker must react to the defenders responses and deliver strikes to open areas.
You should use elbow pads and forearm pads to do this (just a suggestion), so you don't get cut/brusied up too badly.
