@jazzscherzo You forgot to mention Chaka! I agree with you to some extent! But a strong criterion that still is applied these days is the sales factor! Although Anita did in fact have an excelent album she really did well commercially that year! We usually tend to minify Janet's smooth voice, talent and work but I only wish that many of nowadays artists had just half of her qualities as a music roots knowledgeable performer!...
