Amusing that you have no answer to waht happened to those who did not pay the tax. Could it be the same thing that happens to Christians in every major muslim country. Torture, abuse and death!

i have done plenty of research, as a matter of fact, i've taken classes in senior level college classes in both middle eastern history and middle eastern politics. catholics are still christians. they both do things in the name of the same god and the same jesus. this will be my last comment because it's pointless to discuss further with you. whatever "your" god says is Truth and whatever any other religion says is false. you will never see it any other way.

Don't sweep it under the rug. If they did not pay the tax what happened to them? You need to clarify christian and catholic as well. Catholic does not mean christian! Catholics led the crusades, not christians! Do a little research.

yes, islam did make people pay a tax if they lived under muslim rule and did not embrace their faith. however, christians just killed everyone who didn't convert. are you going to tell me that's better?

I assume you believe in the hadith as much as the koran.Correct? what do you do when the hadith records your prophet saying jihad is the second greatest act in islam, or what do you do about the fact that your prophet said to "fight against all pagans as well as against the peoples of Scriptures(Bible)if they do not embrace Islam, until they pay the jizya(the tax you can pay to avoid having to convert)." Sounds to me like your prophet can be bought.

do you know how many people have been killed in the name of Christ over the last two millenia? ever hear of the crusades, the inquisition or the salem witch trials? it's easy to slap on a terrorist label to differentiate killing in the name of allah over killing in the name of god, but it's the same to me.
