The voice actors weren't exactly stellar? You, my friend, have a gift for understatement the likes of which I have never seen. Thank God you have the option to turn the spoken parts off.

I love this game so much! It was actually the second rpg I ever purchased...right after Ys Book 1 & 2. I still love how you can go into the menu and switch the sound from stereo to bgm...it's like having two separate soundtracks to a game.

This was my very first RPG with speech. I loved it, and fell in love with my Turbo Duo! Looking back on it now, the voice acting was rather silly sounding, but for its time, it was the best IMO. I still play this game from time to time. Too bad the second one didn't make it stateside. Maybe some wonderful hacker will someday translate this....

This is the TG16 CD version of the game.

The fight below is the mot retarded thing I've ever seen.

One of my favorite games on the Turbo Duo.
I'd say the voice acting in Ys III was worse.

@MegaVideoGameMusic - You'll have to track down a TurboGrafx-16 system and CD unit to play it. While it was originally rumored for release on the Wii Virtual Console, that has yet to happen.

@virtualturbo if you have a modded wii, there's an injected virtual console wad that does indeed play Dragon Slayer.

@devonmeunier Will a green Wii RVT-R reader work?

I loved this game! The soudtrack was fantastic. The last guy took my some time tho to beat. This is the same company that released Ys (Falcom).

This game was a lot of fun. It feels a little like a turn-based version of the Ys games at time. As you said, great soundtrack.
