Shetland Ponies to Hong Kong

The American Shetland Pony Club
Salutes the Hong Kong Olympic Effort

In 2008, the American Shetland Pony Club
donated two champion Shetland Ponies
to Hong Kong Equestrian Federation to honor
their efforts in hosting the Equestrian Olympics.

The Hong Kong Equestrian Federation
in conjunction with the Hong Kong Jockey Club
and ING hosted a Handover Ceremony to welcome
the new ponies to Hong Kong on July 10, 2008.
A national contest to give the ponies
Chinese names was also launched on that day.

The two American Shetland Ponies
will be used in riding lesson programs
at two Hong Kong riding schools,
Clearwater Bay Equestrian Center
and Lo Wu Saddle Club.
