Does the cat or dog have to be at the vet to get tracked so you can find it

Hi, not really. If your pet is found by a stranger who cares, they usually have THEIR vet check to see if there is a chip or if the dog is taken to a shelter, they check to see. People are pretty saavy to the micro-chip thing these days. Thanks for asking! Kate
