Yeah, we had toy guns when we were little, but we didn't play with them 10 hours straight like kids do indoors with HALO and other violent games.
About shooters - Sometimes no one knows about a person's intentions, but usually, someone hears the person say they're about to go over the edge in a TRULY angry tone, as opposed to a joking/facetious upset manner. You know when someone's angry, so don't be afraid to tell others.
With all the shootings over the past 10 years, like at VT and NIU, if you ever hear someone you don't really know that well say in an angry tone that they're going to get back at people and blow their heads off, or something that sounds vengeful, you should really consider reporting it to school officials, first, and let them decide to talk to the person or not.
If you do know them well, they obviously are comfortable around you, so say, "try your best to forgive others, I know it's wrong what they do, but you don't really mean that", and if they say they do, then tell someone else at the college or school.
We don't need any more of these types of sad events that almost NEVER happened when I was a teen.
very moving. VERY moving.

there's a big difference between joking and angry threats of violence - don't be afraid to tell school officials to let them decide what to do!
