This enormously talented German actor (1884-1967) often had parts that were at once funny and scary, perhaps most memorably as „Concentration Camp Erhardt" in Ernst Lubitsch's „To Be or Not To Be". In „Marie Galante" (1934), dir. Henry King he played a leading terrorist and actually is quite scary. He was in the best scenes of this otherwise rather forgettable flick. Even Spencer Tracy was no match for him. Great voice!
