During flood operations in Northern NSW the State Emergency Service was tasked with hundreds of missions ranging from people requiring immediate rescue from fast flowing waters to requests for essential medical and food supplies for families isolated by floodwater. This particular mission was to navigate the dangerous, debris strewn flood plains from Yamba to Ulmarra and safely return fragile cargo - 4 month old baby Shaleah to her anxious parents, separated for 4 days by rising floodwaters while securing their property. The clip gives insight into the extraordinary extent of water catchment and the imminent perils of this flood.
