Recently finished the repair of the SW55 receiver. Changed out the capacitors and repaired corrosion damage to the board. Radio will be on it's way home to Singapore! Many of these short wave radios suffered from "bad" capacitors and a failed DC to DC converter. Little brother to the SW77, both are fine receivers and worth the repair.
@senderjaeger Problem is that I repair all these receivers for others and have yet to repair my own SW77and SW55! I think it is called the "Shoemakers syndrome"!

Another great job done... The SW55 is indeed worth the repair. It's one of the best SW portables I've ever owned, very sensitive and selective. SSB performance is excellent for the size class. I had much fun and many good DX catches with it, but I sold it after I had upgraded to the Lowe 225 about 15 years ago.
