This is video of me chasing NS Train # 322, and overtaking it over several miles. I eventually got far enough ahead before encountering heavy traffic, and was able to video him by the Railroad Crossing at Davis Rd, in Locust Grove Ga.

You are referring to the slug. It's A locomotive accessory consisting of extra traction motors.
