This was one of the better goodbyes to analog. Some were abrupt, without hoopla, others, like this, paid a fitting tribute to a bygone era for television.

the anthem is from when WGHP was an ABC TV station in the 1970's

Cindy Farmer I believe. She was the one with long blonde hair. She cut it now and is on the morning show.

Not only DTV is more digital. Even the digital episode
of Seinfeld. Just like the dvd. Everything is digital

Bob Buckley is a punk He got pushy with our news crew at a American Idol event at the Greensboro Coliseum. He also looks like a Zombie without make up. The engineering staff got bit when WGHP VHF-8DT was so weak they had to get the FCC in there to grant them a move to WGHP UHF 35 DT what a mess. Everyone else is really nice at FOX except Buckley.

that bob buckley is a dick.
i accidently cut him off om traffic once in winston and he has some serious road rage. he screamed and called me a cocksucker

WGHP's DTV transmission had been on a temporary UHF channel.
They were turning the ch-8 DTV signal on after the analog vacated ch-8.
-
Why would they turn on DTV if it has already been on for years.

I do live in NC. in fact, I live in the Piedmont Triad between Winston-Salem and Kernersville. I recorded several dozen sign-offs of NC-SC-VA TV stations between Autumn 1988 and June 1993. All were received over-the-air at my home. I also recorded a few from Eastern NC stations off the cable during vacations at Topsail Island, NC during 1993-2000.

Yes, that is Holly! She did the weather on FOX 8 for a few years back in the early 2000s.

On his Twitter feed about the DTV transition, the Fox 8 engineer told us to expect something special for the occasion, and they didn't disappoint. I understand the art department was especially proud of that 60s vintage KJL-88 slate.

Yeah, the KJL-88 slide was cool. I was too young to remember that particular one, though. The one I remember from the 1970s was of a different design. I wish they could've thrown in the Seal of Good Practice for good measure.
