Don Pardo of the NBC Television Network breaks into regular programming with the first NBC-TV bulletin concerning the shooting of President John F. Kennedy, which had occurred fifteen minutes earlier in Dallas, Texas.

This extremely rare 23-second audio-only clip comes courtesy of Phil Gries, who taped the bulletin directly off the air as it was being broadcast live on NBC-TV at 1:45:03 PM EST (12:45 PM, Dallas time [CST]) on Friday, November 22, 1963.

Phil's tape-recorded version of this bulletin is the only source for this material that is known to exist.

Don Pardo's first bulletin, plus some additional early 11/22/63 audio footage from the NBC-TV network, would be lost forever if not for Mr. Gries and his archive of tapes from that historic day in 1963.
