A song of great inspiration...Happy St. Patrick's to everyone! This song was based on a poem by Patrick Kavanagh called "On Raglan Road" and put to the music of the traditional song "Dawning of the Day" by Luke Kelly after meeting Mr. Kavanagh in a pub called "The Bailey". Kelly's version is the most well known but the song was done by many. Luke Kelly passed away in 1984 at age 44 and remains an iconic and historic figure in Dublin, Ireland.
