  • @JOMalone3113 Hey, this looks like a lot of fun and your brew looks killer tasty! By any chance did you sparge the bag, or is it not neccessary?

  • @rocknrollpriest I did sparge teh bag a little but I am not certain if it is absolutely necessary, it might help with efficiency if you do but u arent going to get a whole lot more sugar out by sparging it...and thanks, it was a nice beer, It was wicked awesome!

  • My last 2 brew days have been 20+ and 30+ degrees! i HATE cold weather! haha I need to look at doing more BIAB's inside! Good job!

  • @jakecpunut yea it has been unusually cold here this year. But I am about to say f*ck it and brew up something soon. Thanks! I am digging ur vids too

  • @ihikefar Hey bud..it's Chad from the Beer Club. I wouldn't worry about the efficiency conversion as with BIAB you should always ask for a "double crush" at Alt. Bev or wherever. This alone will boost your efficiency.

  • @wonkavator33 Yes, I have been told that and I should have asked for it at my LHBS but forgot. That should def help the efficiency.

  • Great vid JO. Can't wait for the tasting! Been wanting to try BIAB and have the same brew pot as you. Did you use fermcap drops to prevent boil overs on this batch? What about any sort of bottom to prevent scorching? I think steeljan uses a spaghetti strainer for that purpose(?).

    Cheers!

  • @immolateus thanks!

  • Great video

  • @ihikefar Here is my adjusted recipe based on 45% efficiency (which is what I calculated as the efficiency of the original recipe)...6# Golden Promise, 1# Crystal 20L, 1/2# Carapils, 1/4# Crystal 80L

  • You mentioned you would modify the recipe due to the low utilization. Any chance of posting the new recipe based on your beersmith conversion for the rest of us future BIAB brewers out here in internet land?
