I do pretty well until you have to hit both the E strings.  For some reason it doesn't sound right to me...

you actually dont play both E strings at the same time. its the A and the B

the 2nd string you pick with your 3rd finger, along with the 5th string with your thumb. The 3rd string is your 2nd finger, and the 4th string is your first finger.
