Congratulations on getting the Extra class!

When I was trying to build speed, I used to hang out in the novice bands. Then the more qso's you have the faster you can go. The problem I encounter now is the people using keyboards and their computer to send and receive CW. It seems DX'ers will do that to make more contacts.

My advice is to get in the FISTS, you can get into their contests or find someone who will go with you at your pace to help build speed.

I am getting into CW now after getting my Extra, have no issues sending. It's the receive that's a big issue for me right now. I know that there are Koch and Fansworth method but I guess time will be the best medicine for "ear" issues.
