@NEILVANCE I totally agree.
1984 was their last brilliant thing. the next 2 were so commercial and US sell o0ut. Then on Savage I agree, they were being much more experimental again. Saveage was a return to Eurythmics being FABULOUS again, a great album+

I absolutely agree. i ALWAYS say the same thing... Eurythmics were just IMMACULATE up until the 1984 soundtrack then they went completely commercial rubbish with all the US chart crap sound. SOLD OUT!!!... Thank goodness that Savage was a nice return to the Eurythmics that I love +

... I agree w/early Eurythmics up to the album "1984" as BEYOND the best. But your use of the term "american sound" (lowercase noted) would be better described as "Pop" -- which by the way, the British are just as susceptible to producing and consuming. BTW...check out anything by Patrick Cowley, the American musical genius who was practically inventing the type of "American" music the Eurthymics and the rest of the fabulous British synth tidal wave were influenced by. Cheers!

Greetings from Ingrid
I am glad to see you are a True' EurythmicS' early days fan, 1984 soundtrack to me was there last. i hated the 'american' sound of BYTM and revenge, to me 'Savage' was a little teaser for me as I kina thought they where going back to there roots abit.
thanks for this comp.
