just set the quality to 480p and you should be able to read the menus just fine.

If you just put the high quality code (&fmt=18) you can see the letters a lot easier.

Thanks for posting this. You just saved me bunches of time and frustration of trying to figure out how to this on my own. Too bad the video was pretty blurry. However, I know GIMP fairly well so I could tell what you were doing.
