  • Wooing the religious. Pity.

  • o i know the importance ppl place on god-they will blow up buildings to show their "faith" in god.

And about my opinion being the only one that matters-your right, its not the only one that matters, and i do live in a country of religious nuts. And they can stay religious nuts, but when they use their dogma to elect people that are hostile to me as a minority, that is when my opinion matters. And in the very sense of it, my opinion then is very much more important then others's (:

  • blabelguitarman-well, secular for me is someone like Ron Paul-who is very religious personally, but never on any circumstance lets that interfere with his job as a congressman. We just need people who will keep the separation of church and state alive-and whether they have faith or not should be irrelevant, because it has nothing to do with their job. If the media continues to promote this "faith" in politics thing, then it will be expected candidates define faith in order to gain office.

  • I don't think I argued against that or that I would, but I think that what you're saying makes sense. When you say vote secular though, what exactly do you mean? As in without any influence from a candidates faith?

  • I don't believe I have conveyed a belief in a God either. I am merely trying to help you get your point across without acting like your opinion is the only one that matters. You live in a country that is full of religious people. Like it or not we all have to find ways to live together or you can choose to be unhappy for the rest of your life. I haven't misinterpreted your language. If you can't see how the statements you make are hateful you don't know the importance some place on their god.

  • as for me being hateful. well, you must be misinterpreting my language. Either that or you saw that I made a point and you felt like you needed to defend your god.

I dont believe I made any personal attacks at all did I? I am not "venomous", I only represent a position that is out of the mainstream. As for "why would anyone respect you or your opinions"?

Well that is the reason I am voting 3rd party. The 2 party system DOESNT respect me or my opinions. Or that of the founders.

  • I would hope that I dont insult believers, I just debate religion with them, just like anyone else would politics or philosophical issues.

"problem is a lack of acceptance"-no, I see my society TOTALLY accepting of religion, but when you see it from a truly outside perspective you realise its just playing make-believe for adults. They are rational and logical 6 days a week, but then on the 7th they are a kid again. Thats how i see it.

but let me respond to what you say about me being hateful

  • umm. ok. Your right I do have hostility to release, and thats because I have to choose between a bunch of anti-secularists for president! A major network perpetuates the theistic myth about "faith" being a virtue. As a secularist-NOT an atheist I have a problem with that.

I thought the democratic party secular because they didnt showboat jesus like this. But I see I was wrong. They will say anything to get elected.

  • For you to look down on somebody because they choose a different belief is not only rude, it's the very problem that you proclaim to "be above" because you are atheistic. "More wars have been fought because of religion," etc... The problem is a lack of acceptance. That is who you are. As much as Falwell, or Al Sadr, or the Pope, you perpetuate hate. I suggest you seek treatment from someone or something you do believe in or you may find very few true friends other than the "imaginary" kind.

  • Wow. I must admit, I've never met anyone who is so full of animosity toward the chosen beliefs of another. As ridiculous as you find the concept of God, I find the concept of antagonizing believers purely for the enjoyment of insulting them pitiful at best. You have a bunch of hostility to release and good luck with that. Why would anyone respect you or your opinions when you present yourself as so venomous? Why in the world would you ever believe the Democratic party secular over any other?
