Hello, just from what you said, and a quick glance at the thing, you could do a number of things, for instance a street light circuit, (photo-resistor), in that way when a cloud comes along or night time, it will shut off and run off the battery, your battery won't charge up because it's quite a load, it's the Lenz's Law. Do what Tesla said and match your load to your source to eliminate Lenz's law. Hence a capacitor is a matched load then just dump it back to your battery with switchery.
