@barakHobama Japanese are generally xenophobic as opposed to being racist. You can win over the later by respecting their culture; a racist will just hate you no matter what you do. The older citizens worry about their national and cultural identity, while the young ones worry about the future of their people. Both groups have much to worry about.

please note i have never been to japan and these answers arnt from my own expieriance. the japanese people for the most part havn't become used to the idea of gaijin (outsiders) being part of the culture they arn't racist but they do discriminate if you encounter this please dont take it personally its just that some gaijin have no respect for japanese culture therfore giving the japanese people reason to believe that all gaijin behave in this manner. check out gimmeaflakeman for more info

depends
the young ones are more open to our culture but a lot of the older people are more conservative and some can't handle foreigners
