Steve Tibbetts, Marc Anderson and Choying Drolma

A beautiful collaboration of ECM recording artist, Steve Tibbetts', westernized sounds and the Tibetan chants of the young Choying Drolma. Steve and Marc, longtime recording partners, contribute their trademark sound without distorting the natural spiritual quality of Tibetan music. The music is from the album entitled, "Selwa", by Six Degree Records. "Selwa" represents some of Buddhists practices that support the notion of "spontaneous expression" and luminosity that also spawns creative music and thought that is unlike any other. The album features beautiful ambient sounds, guitar, and percussion, and Choyings' haunting chants.

I am an absolute fan of Steve Tibbetts. He is one of my top 6 gtr players (John Abercrombie, Bill Frisell, Egberto Gismonti, Ralph Towner, Terje Rypdal.) His music like Stephan Micus, Eberhard Weber, Nana Vasconcelos and Meredith Monk defy all categories and yet touch almost every culture out there.

@lttlebighrn her parents were tibetan refugees but she was born in Nepal and for your info Nepal has its own Unique culture and religion and there are bon buddhists in the northern part of Nepal, FYI and she has lots of other beautiful songs in Nepali and please don't hate and start BS about religion

ever heard of Ed Wynne. He is the guitarist/band leader of Ozric Tentacles. The guitarist for melting euphoria is also underrated and unknown. Also there is Kazumi Watanabe and Steffi Sharpstrings and Daevid Allen of Gong.
