But how do you know that? We've been taxed since the beginning and big corporations are sponsored from our government through subsidies, tax breaks, and loop holes. The free market system has never been tried. Always government interference.

Every time we go to deregulate something bad happens. There is apparently no path that we can travel to the free market utopia.

Restoring freedom selfish? So if I don't want to allow the government to take half of my income it's selfish. Ok, say you have 2 10 dollar bills on a table @home. A person comes in & takes a ten & says "Trust me, I know how to spend your money best." Would you allow that? Government is no better. Taxing CREATES selfishness. ie when its time to give charity, people are more likely to say "I already donated! I paid Uncle Sam to do it for me!" If you think our tax system isnt corrupt youre insane

Your version of freedom is indeed selfish. ITs liek you say gov't can't do anything right. but of course you listen to politicians and pundits that tell you this. These same people are the reason why gov't in certain areas are ineffective because they cut the funding, and spend it in other ways then exploit your ignorance on how they budget. But yes you are a selfish person. The fact that you are afraid of a little colectivism that allows society to functions yes u r selfish.

True they spend it in other ways that is a problem. As soon as we decide to spend money toward a program for the common good... 8 years later those funds under a new politician get very quickly put into the general fund... "the black hole." I don't buy your selfish argument because I work for my money. I contribute to society by working rather than sitting on my ass waiting for my government check to arrive. I support myself without asking or taking from others. Not selfish.

insanenutman, I'm not all THAT enamored of the Dems but they are the lesser of two evils. I see their faults, believe me. And I don't think that just two political parties can possibly represent all the different points of view in our country. We need to have a system that has third and fourth, maybe even fifth parties. The party that is most closely aligned to my values is the Green Party. Unfortunately they haven't been able to get a candidate elected to national office -- yet.

Yes but both are equally evil. Im no Green but respect U, a thinker. Ideally no parties just individuals w/ ideas! "Republicrats" both create new laws that strip away R freedoms. I vote 4 a candidate that says there are 2many laws, programs &wars, time to start repealing! Some say by not voting Dem or Republican is a "vote for the other guy". More political/media brainwashing! Brainwashed 2 believe there R2choices! &that is why this continues. YouMe share a dream. We continue 2educate grassroots.
