You are meant to use the arm not holding the kettlebell to push up from the ground you dafty. You are not only working the arm holding the kettlebell it works out the whole body.

that is how you do a turkish get up. His obliques are nearly incidental in this exercise. If you want to Isolate your obliques you rotate or laterally flex. this is an overall body exercise invented by and for grapplers.
