this song has great personal meaning to me because i was depressed; albeit, not to this extent. depression does take it's toll on family members and friends, as this song so plainly articulates. i'm in a much better state of mind today, but i do still listen to this song and watch the video as a reminder to stay out of that place. i ♥ placebo!

Just thought i'd mention its good you can relate to it but the songs about drugs (herion) "your needle and your damage down" "pull you from, the liquid sky" and the reason why the video ends up in a rehab centre. Yes placebo are very good.

tamelanj, same here i also used to be deppresed and this song and other songs used to make me sad and they remind me about it but its a good thing cause then i wont be that way again

thank you for your comment. i don't think the song is just about heroin. anyway, the video leaves it open, and is really about the toll the feeling unwell emotionally takes on ones family members. fortunately, mine were very supportive. today, i'm in a very good state of mind this song has a permanent place in my heart. i love placeo. they take such risks. they're not afraid to be right up in your face.
