  • they are.. A few of my friends have bulldogs and they have 1-3 year olds around the dogs all the time.. Bulldogs are honestly very sweet and gentle around kids, cause they are like big babies themselves.. =)

  • The person who said the Breed is called " Bulldog " is 100% CORRECT! Watch the AKC shows on TV, look it up in the books. Bulldog- which is also know as English Bulldog, French Bulldog, American Bulldog. The most common is also known as an English Bulldog like the University of Georgia mascot named UGA or pronounced

Ug Ga. I have owned an English also, very lovable breed.

  • Ut oh....lil brownie had herself a lil ol accident. LOL

  • Oh my goodness, they're so chubby!

  • @Skullfish13 - I completely understand what you are saying that the breed is called "Bulldog". But the standard for the way they look was formulated in England, from that point on becoming the "ENGLISH STANDARD". Anyone can look up the history of the bulldog and see many referals to the english bulldog standard (I would be happy to provide links). If it did not have the English standard then it would be one of many other types of bulldogs (ie. American, Spanish, French etc etc).

  • @melmirka No your wrong. There is no such thing as an ENGLISH BULLDOG. No type, nothing - the breed doesnt exist. There are american bulldogs, then there are Bulldogs. Two different breeds. There are french, american etc...but the "classic" bulldog that everyone outside britain seems to call "english", is simply called BULLDOG. Fact - look up the kennel club standard, you see for yourself. Like i said, i've owned i few - all from registered breeders.

  • @Skullfish13 - There is a difference though within the 'bulldog' breed between English Bulldogs and American Bulldogs. The English version having a classic bulldog look as many are used to, while the American bulldog tends to be taller with more of a pitbull feel to them. So yes, it is a bulldog breed, but the type of bulldog is English.

  • Love this color and markings on the black spotted one. Anybody know where I can find a VERY GOOD breeder on the WEST COAST? I'm willing to travel but want a really good breeder and dog. Thanks for the help!

  • @MsJCBurke No it isnt, the breed is registered as "Bulldog" by the Kennel Club. Yes there are french bulldogs, but there is no such breed called the "english bulldog", its a common mistake friend! I've owned a few, gaurantee you, it's just Bulldog!

  • @Skullfish13 This is an English Bulldog, that is the breed. There are French Bulldogs too. Different breed. Both are bulldogs, however.

  • @DillonsGirl09 I've never heard of an American Bulldog.
