Sujud on the stone: shirk or sunna?

The word turbah comes from the Arabic word turab meaning dust or mud. The turbah is made from a little straw (or seeds [nisha]) and different types of mud (clays) that stick well together when mixed.

Narrated Mu'aiqib: The Prophet talked about a man leveling the earth on prostrating, and said, "If you have to do so, then do it once." [Sahih Bukhari 2.298]

Narrated Anas bin Sirin: I heard Anas saying, "A man from Ansar said to the Prophet, 'I cannot pray with you (in congregation).' He was a very fat man and he prepared a meal for the Prophet and invited him to his house. He spread out a mat (like a khumra) for the Prophet, and washed one of its sides with water, and the Prophet prayed two Rakat on it." A man from the family of Al-Jaruid asked, "Did the Prophet used to pray the Duha (forenoon) prayer?" Anas said, "I did not see him praying the Duha prayer except on that day." [Sahih Bukhari 1.639]

The wife of the Prophet (PBUH&HF) Maimuna said:"The Messenger of Allah was once praying while I was experiencing my menses and sitting beside him. Sometimes his clothing would touch me during his prostration. She added: He prayed on a Khumra (a small palm leaf mat)." Saheeh Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 8, Number 376

"Make your forehead dusty with earth!" [Kanz al-Ummal by Al-Hindi, vol.7, p465, hadith 1981

Sometimes the Sahabah had started praying before the Prophet had seen them and when the Prophet would see someone prostrate on a part of their turban, he would take the material away from underneath their forehead. [Sunan by Al-Bayhaqi, vol2, p105]

The Prophet declared that the best place for prostration was the earth, or upon something that grows from the earth. Kanz-ul-Ummal, Part 4., p. 113

Narrated Salma: "I went to visit Umm Salamah and found her weeping. I asked her what was making her weep and she replied that she had seen Allah's Messenger (PBUH&HF) (meaning in a dream), with dust on his head and beard. She asked him what was the matter and he replied, `I have just been present at the slaying of al-Hussein. Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: "One day at midday, he saw the Prophet (PBUH&HF) in a dream disheveled and dusty with a bottle containing blood in his (sawa) hand and he said, "You for whom I would give my father and mother as ransom, what is this?" He (sawa) replied, "This is the blood of al-Hussein and his companions which I have been collecting today." The Prophet (sawa) said that he (sawa) foresaw the time when Hussein and his family will be brutally slaughtered.

Tabarani: Aisha narrated that: "Once Imam Hussein Bin Ali (as) visited Holy Prophet (sawa), while he was in the middle of a revelation. He climbed on the shoulders of Holy Prophet (sawa), Gabriel asked from the Holy Prophet (sawa) that did he love him? The Holy Prophet (sawa) replied 'How could I not love my son'. Gabriel said: 'Surely your Ummat (community) will kill him after you'. Then he stretched his hand and handed over a grain of white sand to Holy Prophet (sawa) and said: 'Your son will be killed on this soil. The place is known as Taff.' After the departure of Gabriel, the Holy Prophet (sawa) came out, he had the same sand in his hand, he was weeping and he said: 'O Aisha, Gabriel has informed me that my son Hussein will be killed on the land of Taff. My Ummat (community) will pass through tests after me.' Then the Holy Prophet (sawa) went, weeping profusely. Ali (A), Abu Bakr, Umar and Abu Zar were present there. When they all inquired about the cause of grief, he (sawa) replied: "Gabriel has informed me that, after me, my son Hussein will be killed on the land of Taff. He also gave me the sand and said that it is from his grave." (Majma az-Zawaed, vol 9, pg 187)

Truth is truth. I am glad some people have intelligence to spread the truth instead of falsehood. it is crazy to say a shia worships a stone that does not even make sense! Thank you video maker to use sunni references to show that Prophet always prayed with a sajjud whether clay or palm leaves, but we already knew this as we follow the sunnah of the prophet (saww). This is good work, more needs to be done to show unity not disunity
