Goodbye to Orfay!

Yafro which started in feb/march of 2003 ()(((correction-- it was 2004))), by Hot-or-Not's Owners: Jim & James, was a picture blog community website for hosting photos and blogs which people could converse with other people across the globe. I ended up being shut down after Sept. 2006 due to too many system crashes, image server problems, too much point bombings, and email alerts not being sent.

It was then saved by Wage who turned the Yafro into Orfay in Oct/Nov 2006. While in its beta form, orfay moderators were placed to anonymously rate the global users pictures.

ratings were (G, PG-13, R, and X)

After a couple months, Orfay finally went full swign, and had the ablity to allow embedded vidoes from Youtube, to be added to the Orfay members webpages. It became a very big favorite among the photography crowd. Then after almost 2 years, it too suffered a horrible image servers crash in late april, early may, of this year 2008.

for nearly a month, people were starting to worry that orfay was in its final days, and stopped coming to orfay, some even deleted their accounts.

I honestly was hoping that the webpage would be returned to normal and the image servers fixed, and people would start coming back. But, after 5 weeks of waiting, the owner WAGE (wage.orfay.com) finally gave in, and told everyong that he is giving up on trying to bring back all the lost images, and decided to close down orfay for good. Its final days will be in this month coming up, June of 2008!!

From Yafro to Orfay, it's been 5 years in the making. I've made many of friends on yafro/orfay, and most of us have moved over to glowfoto for the time being, until something better comes along.

I'm not sure if it was so much the money Tim. Yafro and Orfay ended up becoming crazy with groups dedicated to child pornography.

I miss the sites too but they quickly became very porn related. Which isn't bad..LOL!!! But like I said... Too many took advantage of it and started creating "private" groups full of underage pics

yeah, I heard about that. it's a real shame that some crazy pedos would take advantage of such a great website features and ruin it for the rest of yafro & possibly orfay.

Just like with the advil thing... people started making methanphetamine out of it, now you can't get it off the shelf, you have to go and order it, either at the pharmacy or behind the front counter, and always sign for it.

Yafro, Orfay and Multipy were all great in their day. Money and pic nazis have ruined them all. Where have all of the refugees gone?

well most have gone to Mobog, it's as close as it can get to orfay/and yafro, but it's not the same, there are a lot of things missing, that aren't in orfay/yafro... I'm still under the same name there... if you come to visit...

Tim, this is SuperSport55 from Yafro and Orfay. I found this video from a Youtube search for "iCost." I loved the days of Yafro and Orfay. It was so much fun. It was like a community. It was great.
