The brainchild of Philip Slattery, "Slatt's Rescue Belt" is a clever application of a standard crochet. More popularly seen expanded and used as the means to create a rope doormat or scarf, the rescue belt is a slick way to create a shoulder strap, which can easily be undone to allow use of the rope that created it. • can u do it with fewer loops to make it thiner

  • @ParkerAlen213 - Yes.

  • Awesome video thanks. I was wondering how you would tie in additional buckle or somesort of joining mech? I would love to use this knot to make a rifl sling, just wondering how to tie in the ends. Thanks again.

  • @futhermucker1 - Your question is answered through the "Special Info Link" in the video description.

  • My dilemma is that I want to attach a buckle to the belt but still have a true "rescue" belt. My main criteria is that I need to be able to strip all of the line out in a single pull if necessary. I'm thinking that the best option might just be a round buckle that would hide the slant, or a slanted bar on the buckle... If anyone's interested in trading techniques, I have a very slick technique for a boatswains lanyard I use for work ID's.

  • Hi JD, beautiful tension! I want to connect O-rings for the buckle but I can't figure out how to buckle belt. Don't you need 2 O-rings?

  • why would i not sub this? this has more entertainment then rwj

  • Looks very tedious

  • awesome and outstanding!! Thank you Sir.

  • Love this vid

  • The best part about this and many of TIAT's other projects is the fact that you can undo and use the cordage immediately. Many shop sell "survival" bracelets and other crap that look nice but are useless in a real survival situation since it take as long to undo as it does to make. I have made several bracelets that look cool and come undone in just a second. No, 10' of paracord probably won't save your life in a real survival situation but it has come in really handy many, many times.

  • Not sure if this has already been answered but I thought it might help those who had the same question as I had about how much cordage per belt. Keep in mind that this WILL vary depending on the thickness of the cordage used but for PARACORD you will need 53-54 feet for a 30 inch belt. I used 64" per 3" so a good round up would be 2 feet per inch. Hope this helps. Thank you TIAT ! Your videos are awesome. To anyone who hasn't checked out his "Honey Basket",check it out, you won't be disappointed

  • how man y feet of cordage for the belt

  • how many feet for that belt
