This version comes from the big DG Schubert collection. The booklet says this recording is from 1969. I'll have to listen again to the Salzburg recording you say is your favorite. If it's better than this, is must be something. :)

Me singing? :) Ah no, this is the great baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, one of of greatest singers of the German Lied. You can hear more of him on my channel. I'm glad you liked the video.

Oh how I would love to be able to actually sing...Schubert's lieders speak to the heart and explores the deepest fathoms of human emotion.The type of stuff that can make you cry despite not understanding a single word. xD The magic of Schubert is,despite the lyrics being in German,that you can understand the words merely by feeling them.Music is after all a universal language. :)
