**WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY!**

2/20/09: NS eastbound domestic container train 26T heads east on the No. 1 Track down the west side of world famous Horseshoe Curve on a VERY cold day in the Alleghenies. But this was only the first half of stacks...so where was the OTHER string of containers? They were busy getting re-railed on the other side of the mountain at NY, MP MP 258.8 at Portage, PA after a hot wheel broke clear off the axle and cut up the tracks for 4 miles before finally jumping the rails at 258. NS and RJ Corman MoW crews were on the scene, and track 1 remained closed between SO and MO for the better part of 2 days. Shot on the NS Pittsburgh Line.

  • Didn't NS try and chase you out?

  • Nope, from my vantage point they're not legally obligated to chase me out, not on their property. The NS Pittsburgh Line Special Agent could park right at the 242 mile marker and I could drop the jeans and moon him and he couldn't do jack shit to me from where I was standing, PUBLIC PROPERTY UP WHERE I WAS!! Now my buddy Marc down there on the either hand...they could escort HIM off their property if they felt so inclined, but I was in the "safe" spot.

  • Very nice one Mike, I love snow shots. Is there a trail to get to this spot over the hill? I'd like to shoot from there come July when I go up.

  • Yup, I still don't know where it is though. We attempted to walk up the steep hillside...didn't work with all the snow on the ground. We took the stairs to the HSC park, and found our way in from there. But that method kinda only works when the HSC park isn't open!

  • Haha! I knew you would upload this video first! Now its time for the 65J at 239! Great Video Mike, As I was there when you shot it. haha

  • haha yea its on its way, I kinda gotta save the best for last though

  • Very interesting! How could i make myself cabable to this spot? I've been itching to try this kind of spot up there for years!

  • Haha, yea man, it was an easy walk for us, and jumping the fence was a piece of cake! Right Mike? haha

  • Yea I still got em, sure didn't feel like I did though up there

  • Bitter is not a strong enough word for how cold it was that day...

  • Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. It was a bitter cold day.

  • Very nice. Still have all your fingers and toes from climbing up there in the cold, hopefully.
