Journey with the explore team to the spiritual city of Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. See Potala Palace, the traditional winter home of the Dalai Lama and a pilgrimage destination for thousands of Buddhists. Listen to the sounds of monks practicing the art of debate at the Sera Monastery, and witness the many ways in which new technologies are changing the Tibetan cultural landscape. If you look at the comments on "Tibet The Story Of A Tragedy" and a few other high profile Tibet videos like "Tears of Tibet"

"Tibet is melting and turning into desert" and "Tibetan monks embarrass China - 27 Mar 08"

you will see many supporters of the CCP pasting rubbish on the video comments. Now its common for them to copy and paste off China Daily and sometimes a whole article.

Governments around the world want access to china's market so they compromise themselves. In NZ there the leader of the Green Party held a Tibetan flag outside parliament and was hassled by CCP security.

The NZ Minister of Foreign Affairs later said something like its OK to protest as long as you don't upset anyone. The Prime Minister of NZ was keen to pay heaps to have a couple of pandas in a NZ zoo, when NZ has many endangered species that need help.

  • @HumanRightsVideosT I was under the impression the entire world was condemning the CCP. I have 2 family members who were in tibet twice. They stayed with tibetans. Maybe thats why they were not fed the CCP propaganda. They are VERY supportive of the tibetans.I always condemned the ccp. However I am an american..so its in our blood to disapprove of any "Good" and "Communism" in the same sentence. Unless we are say there is "No Good Communists" then it is ok. However This is not why I support tibet

  • @ meronmotors

One reason why I made that comment is that all 4 of my relatives who have been to Tibet and China have been brainwashed by CCP propaganda and think the evil CCP is doing a good job. One of them is an Amnesty Int. member. Pretty sad in my opinion.

I rang up a guy in my city who wrote a book about China that got a reasonable amount of publicity. He didn't know about issues Tibetans, Uyghurs and Falun Gong have and wasn't that keen to talk. Travellers assume they know what's going on.

  • @HumanRightsVideosT alot of people go on vacation to be on vacation. They want to get away from there problems. I cant see people working 5 years to go on vacation and spend it looking at the problems of the other country or area. If life so great in our own country maybe we wouldn't be on vacation in the first place. I think alot of people want a joyride. Although I understand and agree with part of your idea. I would not want to go to Hawaii and spend my trips in the ghettos

  • uncharted 2!

  • Loved it! Bho Rangzen!

  • People say to me that there are many problems around the World and what can we do. I think the first thing is to be aware of the problems in the first place and tell people about them. Because if people are not aware of a problem how can it be solved ?

There is NO reason why the World can't be a better place tomorrow than it is today. If you are a tourist you have a moral duty to find out what is really happening in a country. Otherwise you might just be on a joy ride.
