Rx is not the same rx they used to be, I think they sound better without the horns, a little more mature as well. All we need is another tour or RX and The Exit, Two of the best bands in the world!

There's gotta be someone willing to play horns for the bandit's. Who knows maybe there will be eventually and then who knows they can possibly add horn sections to all the songs on mandala and make that the new official live version of each song. Best part is that they can play play old songs too.

Where did I say they didn't progress? I didn't. I was responding to people who say "Rx Bandits can progress MORE now then they could with horns", which is bs.
Umm, they progressed from Ska to Prog rock way the hell back when they put out the Resignation, so don't try to bring it up like it's something new. The Rx Bandits haven't been Ska for a long ass time.
I'm not saying Mandala is not a good album, it is. But face it, it not as soulful as some of their other ones. It it pretty rockin' tho.

they progressed to a different sound man. they went beyond their convention of third wave ska to prog rock. they have always recorded everything since progress as a four piece, with the horns added later. choi actually said with no disrespect intended, that they had to actually dumb down some parts to make room for the horns. to say that they havent and wont be able to progress, shows a total derelict in musical knowledge, as well as knowledge for the bandits.

well the best way to make a band great is to reinvent themselves with each new album
yes they will never sound the same and are drifting away from ska more and more and it is sad
and i got to see them a couple weeks ago and they played a lot of old songs they all sounded great even without horns but not for decrescendo that needed the horns for me
but they are still amazing

I think it's dumb to say RxB can progress more now without a horn section.
Chris sheets added another layer of complexity to RxB's sound. Now that layer is, gone. What's left is still a good band, but they don't sound as full any more.
I've listened to the new album. And I like "...And the battle begun" more. RxB's songs don't seem to hit the same sort of 'groove' in the middle of a song that they used to. Also, I want to know how theyre gonna manage playing older songs live with no horns.

It is very hard to think of RX w/out horns. Sheets was a hige part of the RX steez. He will be missed on stage. With our without Sheets Rx is still without a doubt one the most creative bands of our time.
