Exageration, i admit. But the pizzicati of the strings brought in my mind some orchestration by Tchaikovsky. A symphonic swan tango.

Mariano Mores (born in 1918) is a pure porteño breed and gave us everlasting music such as ´´uno``, ´´cafetín de buenos aires`` etc.I love this work ´´tanguera`` because it carries me away with its swirling rythm, orchestration and form. With the energy of the interpretation as well. Maestro Mores sits at the piano conducting his orchestra. It was in 1957.

The photos are taken at the casa Ezeiza at San Telmo, Buenos Aires.

Mind your steps!

  • Psolgge... Oh my... I think of the song Tanguera -literally a woman who dances the tango- as an initiation rite for tango. Love it or leave it. This is the original version from Mores in 1959 but great sound! (no much of all the scratchy sounding vinyl) and working on so many layers.. A symphonic swan tango I agree :) My "tanguera" would have dark hair, close her eyes and dance to this tango like nobody is watching! I'm still looking for her ... Thanks for posting!

  • @Aboutmyjourney According to my experience your tanguera will appear once you have carefully prepared your steps. I shall hope with you. According with the note in the cd Mores redorded this in 1957. You have a great channel. Thank you for telling us about your journeys.
