I just found out that Sherri also contacted a breeder who was about to sell bengal kittens to a friend of ours & made statements that they were unfit to raise bengals.Funny, this coming from someone who stole 4 kittens from Richard Norton!UNBELIEVABLE!

Dumbass. MULELOVER is the person causing trouble, Ridanos Bengals has nothing to do with kitten abuse.

@jsurfs21 Regarding abandoned F1s and F2s - how many of all cats are abondoned? Do you have any statistics that shows that more savannahs are abondoned than your regular domestic shorthair or say Persians or Somali? A lot of people get pets and then dump them. And any cat can start spraying or be aggressive. Show statistics, plural of anecdotes isn't data. Again, I find it interesting that you have savannahs and Savannah Cat Rescue has people waiting for cats.

@jsurfs21 I don't know much about white tigers, but I've read a lot about savannahs recently, and I saw first savannahs years ago - they were brought to a TICA cat show near where I live where I go occasionally to watch cats. There is absolutely no proof to Big Cat Rescue claims about savannahs. If Big Cat Rescue has so many abandoned savannahs, why don't they return them to Savannah Cat Rescue - yes, I went there too, they have people waiting for cats.

@jsurfs21 people should learn more about the breed before they get a cat at F standar either its bengal or savannah i have a bengal and had a lot of troubels in the start to get him realy house clean and not ruin funiture with claws ...it took me almost 2 years to get him "normal " but well worth it :))

@heylookimfat Every species carries an albino gene. :) It's just not entirely common in a lot.
-
@KuraKaze You need two snows to produce another snow. You don't get snows with normal gold/tan breedings. Though have you ever noticed you get silver in there sometimes with two golden cats?

those cats are beautiful...

I love to see them playing in water, I hope mine does when I get him.

@jsurfs21 And all you need to breed white tigers is just to get 2 white tiger parent... if you breed two yellow tigers with no white tigers in the lineage there is very low chance there will be recessive white tiger cubs. Breeders don't just breed any random animal and expect there to be white cubs...
And WHERE are you getting this "20-30 cubs must be killed" information? Is there proof? I have never heard of breeding programs that kill tiger cubs.
-
@jsurfs21 I don't know what you mean by "not naturally occuring". White or partially white tigers do in fact, "naturally occur" in the wild and still do. It is due to a recessive gene, and there is no reason wild tigers don't occationally end up with white tiger cubs. The gene need to already exist in the wild in order for "breeding programs" to actually breed white tigers. Did you think they're genetically engineered?

@jsurfs21 White tigers just possess the albinism gene. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Why don't u do your research before commenting. Check out the "Big Cat Sanctuary" in Tampa Fl and the reason for it's existance. Find out what F-1thru F-5 is and what happens to most of the cats along the breeding process. By the way do u think that a "white tiger" naturally occurs?

big cat rescue? I've seen their videos, but so what, what exactly do you think happens to most cats in the breeding process? and I think white tiger do naturally occur rarely

All cats at Big Cat Rescue are abandoned or mistreated cats. If you take the tour there, you will see 20-30 abandoned savannah/serval mostly F-1 and F-2 cats that are there because the owners got them thinking they would make great pets but they either sprayed all over the house (which is more prevalent the closer to the wild breed), or they picked fights with other house pets or family members. Not all do this but lots do..then they are abandoned or killed because the buyer didnt do research

And white tigers are NOT naturally occuring. Before you get a "white" tiger, about 20-30 cubs must be killed. If the goal is a white tiger, then all cubs in the litter that turn out not to be the desired color are discarded. Think about it. If you get 2 out of 5 cubs that are 50% white, then you inbreed them to get a litter more white, now you have 1 out of 5 or 6 of the next litter fitting the criteria, but now a whole new litter of inbred disfunctional and nonwhite cats. look it up

Maybe so, but I meant naturally occurring in the wild not breeding, surely there have been at least one instance of a white tiger being born in the wild right? what does this have to do with anything anyways?

Just because some incompetent people got pets without doing their research inst indicative of problems with the breed or breeding. If they got Servals or F-1s thinking they would be like any other normal cat then they are idiots. Besides, I'd venture to say it's a very small minority of people who would spend thousands of dollars on a Savannah without doing some research first, definitely not "most," of the cats bought home like you say will be euthanized.
