The Moiré effect caused by a fine fabric pattern reacting with the resolution of the computer screen is common today as we show our portraits online. This Adobe Photoshop Tutorial technique is designed to show you how to solve that problem. It is not a solution for images that have the problem caused by your camera sensor reacting with pattern. Most digital cameras have anit-alias filters now that substantially reduce the Moiré effect.

  • You should change the title to you video, "eliminating" moire by blurring is not fixing anything.

  • @justinpicciotti Hi Justin, thank you for your input. As explained in the video, the solution I present does "eliminate" the moire caused by the interaction of the screen with the pattern in the image. Unfortunately, if you have moire in your original image, you have a bigger problem. This is usually caused by the interaction of the pattern with your sensor. Or perhaps two patterns in your scene competing with each other. Do you have such an image?
