You really rate the Bible that highly for spiritual fulfilment? Personally I found pretty much every other spiritual book on the planet preferable. That Skydaddy doesn't seem like a loving creator to me ..more of a demon actually- with all his demands for burnt animal smoke to inhale and his petty vengeful retributions.

All words need interpretation, they are a clumsy representation of thought and often fail to truly represent what you mean. Jesus was also limited by language. Parables are very open to interpretation, because they use metaphor, rather than stating a point directly. For example, the light parable could also be interpretated as saying- once someone has found the truth, they wouldn't keep quiet, they would want others to hear about it

Jesus didn't know Buddha and had no more potential to be "of god" as any other living thing. Jesus was human and the potential for enlightenment is in every human. In his primitive time, Jesus met nobody else he believed to be enlightened. That is, if you believe Jesus was enlightened. Eckhart does.
