@duckman531 Yes I have that book LOST BALLPARKS by Lawrence Ritter (The Glory of Their Times author) and it is great. I refer to it when reading other deadball era books. Unbelieveably enough I believe the playing field of 1890s League Park in Cleveland is still there and used for baseball !
@duckman531 You are correct. Shibe opened in 1909 and was the first modern concrete and steel ballpark. Wooden ballparks caught fire frequently in those days. Thanks for the post !

@ridingroy There's a wonderful book about the "lost ballparks" by Lawrence Ritter. I think it's called "Lost Cathedrals". I'm sure you'd enjoy it!
