Le origini messicane sono importanti nel

produzione del pioniere elettronico Murcof,
che al contrario di tanti artisti europei --
pronti a filtrare tecnologicamente qualsiasi
genere di musica regionale in cui si
imbattano -- riesce a mantenere ben
separati la propria cultura e l'approccio
sperimentale. Murcof, accompagnato dalle
spettacolari installazioni e soluzioni
tecniche del collettivo visuale AntiVj, usa la
tecnologia per creare musica avvolgente,

anche ai silenzi sembra affidata una
missione cruciale. E ormai altissima è la
reputazione internazionale di questo
fuoriclasse del soundscape, anche grazie
a collaborazioni inconsuete, come le
esibizioni con l'ensemble Musiques
Nouvelles nelle cattedrali di Bruges
e Bruxelles.
Murcof's Mexican origins are important to
understand the most elusive aspect of his

genre of regional music they come across,
Murcof manages to separate his own
cultural backgrounds from his experimental
approach. This electronic pioneer,
accompanied by AntiVj's spectacular visual
show and technical solutions, uses
technology to create his fascinating,
spiritual and deeply resonant music where
silence seems to be entrusted with a crucial
mission. After such uncommon
collaborations as with ensemble Musiques
Nouvelles in the cathedrals of Bruges and
Brussels, the international fame of this star
of soundscape is now undisputed.
