Bamboo Shed roof Treehouse Volcano. I just set the Bamboo beam in place and slid he whole beam over a 2x4 that was a fixed support for the rafters. I sliced out an exact size slot for a 2x4 out of the top of the beam and slid it down the length of the 2x4, (it is a very snug fit) so you cannot see it at all. It allows the tree to move around when the wind blows. The tree has a bolt in it that carries the load of the beam and has a small bearing surface that I notched out of the bamboo beam to allow the 2x4 to sit on the bolt (which acts as a bearing), so the tree moves, not the roof/beam!
