So this is my first tutorial video. I welcome any feedback. Let me know if it's easy to follow, if you need more/less explanation. Let me know if you can't figure out what I'm saying! lol

A few pointers for this video:
- No jumping into a spin. Notice how I just lift my legs into a spin.
- Control the swing of your leg as you get into the back hook spin. The quicker you swing and bring in that leg, the faster you spin. Perhaps too fast for some.
- Most of you will get dizzy. Some will get used to it, but for those that do not, use a static pole. You will still spin, but not nearly as much or as fast.
- Try making up your own variations. I've only demonstrated one way of doing it.

If you wish, you many post a video response to this video of yourself doing the moves. I'll be more then happy to provide feedback.

If you have any questions regarding my vids, just ask.

More videos to come :)

IMPORTANT: Please warm up before any rigorous exercise to help reduce risk of injury. Some warm ups before dancing:
- shoulder rolls
- arm swings
- head rolls and stretches
- rotate wrists and stretch them
- warm up torso by doing body rolls, torso twists
- squats, light stretches (do longer and deeper stretches AFTER a workout)
- push ups

Note: Pole dancing, like other forms of sport or physical activity, involves risk of injury. I'll try my best to provide the best advice and information to minimise these risks, however, this responsibility is ultimately yours. Take care, and don't over push yourself. Always start from the bottom and work your way up. DO NOT attempt a move that you are not ready for

  • It's really helpful instead of just explaining left/right leg/arm also clarify if its the outside or inside leg of the pole. Other than that your a great teacher. I am going to keep trying at it!! :)

  • @hellofrankenbery yea i know, but some moves gets a bit confusing when determining what is inside or outside, so to make all videos uniform, i'm using 'left' and 'right'.

  • What kind of pole do you use??

  • @SYDNEYH1808 This is a gold titanium xpole, it's on spinny mode

  • Hello, thanks for sharing this. I tried doing this but I can only do half a spin, what am I doing wrong?

  • @sylai2 is your pole a spinny pole or stationary/still pole?
