This mold was put together in a few hours to allow us to test 100% polypropylene regrind that had been and continues to be recovered from construction job sites. Proving we can mold a .054" thick, .200"wide strip that is 5.30" long with a very generic machine set-up gives us enough information to design a machine and mold that will produce products in a very competitive cycle and allow the customer to establish a sustainable product line business. I was surprised the material ran through this extruder with no problems, the screw diameter is only .625" and the regrind had particles as large as .250" in length or width....but it appears that we were able to gather it into the screw barrel interface and remelt it without any special concerns.
