This Zimmer Dental Implant Surgical Simulator developed by BioDigital Systems and Zimmer. The simulator allows a user to perform a dental implant surgery using SensAble haptics with realistic force-feedback and the Zimmer Dental tool kit. The simulator has a pre-operative mode to evaluate a virtual scenario, a surgical mode to practice the surgery, and post operative mode to exam the final results. The Zimmer virtual tool kit includes drills, extensions, try-in pieces, surgical guides and implants derived from actual CAD models. The user can examine the patient's CT scans, progressively drill an osteotomy into bone with variable densities, use try-in pieces to gauge the accuracy of the osteotomy and place an implant with either a ratchet or a handpiece. The simulator allows the user to intuitively move through the procedure as they would in an actual operatory.
THAT LOOKS SOO PAINFUL! THANK THE LORD FOR NOVOCAINE.
