2009 Cheyenne Animal Injuries, Part 1

The Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo is one of the most brutal and deadly rodeos in the world. 2009 was no exception.

Bob Budd, chairman of CFD's so-called "Animal Care Committee," claims only seven animals received veterinary care. This first of a four part video series shows 10 animals injured, while the entire series will show 35 animals injured.

SHARK is encouraging caring veterinarians to post their thoughts on the true number of animals that should have been attended by a veterinarian.

@spotandreakruger What you can't seem to understand is they know how they're handling the animals has been proven to lead to animal injuries and deaths, yet they keep on doing it the same way. So, they know they'll hurt them.

1, definately yes.2,atleast needs to be checked out. 3, definately needs a vet and less people around. They're stressin him out. 4, yes. He may just have hurt it a little and didn't want to put pressure on it at that moment but atleast he needed to be looked at.5, he seemed fine once everything was removed,but it required at least a look.6, yep7, Yikes! Yes. But I dont blame the cowboy for that one. He tied him afterwards but with all the adrenaline and how fast it happened, probly didnt see it.

I don't understand why they don't do "emergency slaughter" in some way, to keep it from suffering further, but instead haul it off somewhere. I mean, there is no way anyone with an atom of animal knowledge would expect #6 to survive, but you can still se them blinking their eyes.

Also, it seem that if they aren't injured by the fall, many seem to get strangled by the rope around the throat.

I own 9 horses, 2 cows, and love them to death, can't you dumnasses see they have feelings too? No I guess not, well karma will come and bite you men in the ass; and I hope that it treats them like they treat the animals. Who is in favor of protesting against rodeo's?
